SINGAPORE - So Many Memories & Friends

by vigi - last update: Jan 3, 2004

Baby Vigi (Age 3) at Chinese Garden, Jurong
My first trip to Singapore was in my Age of 2, my whole family moved folloing my Daddy's job relocation. I lived in Singapore for 4 years, then back to HongKong after finishing my kindergarden.

Perhaps influenced by my childhood memory, I decided to immigrate to Singapore in 1996. However, becoz of certain reason, I left the place in 1999.

There are unforgetable memories during the years, well, I am glad to know some good friends in Singapore, they treat me not only like family, but also good partners to hangout with!

Singapore used to be a 'FINE' city with lots of rules and regulations plus heavy penalties imposed by the Government. Now, the country is more open and fun. Very happening night life!!!
Nasi Lamek Goreng with Satay.
Singapore have very good public transport system, including buses and MRT (underground).

Food hawker centres everywhere serving mostly chilli and spicy food.

Most local speak SINGLISH, a language which is a mix of English, Hokkien, Malay, Tamil and a few other languages. For easier communications with the locals, check out the Singlish Dictionary.
Outdoor Resting Area in Orchard Road
It is a multi-races country with 70% Chinese, 20% Malaysian, 10% Indian and others. Most people speak Singlish (Singapore Style English) including ages and kids.

Located near to the Equater, it carry warm weather all over the year. Average over 30 degree in the day, and 22 degree in the night. Very humid, avergae 70% or above.
