From HK Airport to Guangzhou Bus Services Review

How to get to mainland China from directly from Hong Kong International Airport?

The Hong Kong International Airport is a multi-modal transport centre, offering extensive land and sea connections to major cities in the Pearl River Delta region (PRD). While cross-boundary ferries provide speedy sea transport to and from eight ports, coach service covers 115 PRD cities and towns. Passengers looking for point-to-point transport can hire a limousine to enjoy more privacy and comfort.

eg. If you arrives HK airport at 21:00 and want to get to attend Canto Fair the next morning, and want to save one night hotel. There is no night bus at such time from HK airport to Guangzhou. The earliest will be 07:00 departing HK ariprot to Guangzhou via Shenzhen Bay. Bus Fare HK$250. It takes about 3 hours.

You can now plan your journey by using the Quick Schedules tool.

KCR Train, Hong Kong (CHINA) - Hong Kong

KCR Train, Hong Kong (CHINA)

To and From Shenzhen From China to Hongkong Review

If you travel from Hong Kong to Shenzhen, take the KCR to Lo Wu station (the last stop), where the border of HK and Shenzen is. It takes only 30 mins from Hong Kong to Shenzhen. Get off the train, you will go through immigration to exit HK then pass thru a bridge that will take you to Shenzen. When you get to the other side, before reaching the Shenzen immigration and right across the Duty Free look out for the sign that says Visa section (or something similar) at the left side. You will go up and get your visa there. It takes about 10-15 minutes for the whole process.

The visa fee varie for countries (they have a list of fee over there). Some said HK$150 for non-US citizens, however, my Dutch (from Holland) were charged HK$450. So, better check what rate your country fit into.

Hong Kong International Airport is served by a highly efficient and comprehensive transportation network. Connected to the passenger terminal, the four-level Ground Transportation Centre houses the station for the Airport Express trains and an extensive public transport interchange with facilities for taxis, franchised buses, tour coaches, hotel limousines and private cars. Baggage trolleys can be found at all passenger drop-off points and porter service is available at the passenger terminal departures kerbside.

Doble Deck Bus, Hong Kong (CHINA)

Double Deck Buses Bus Services Review

Double-decker busses are one of the reminders of Hong Kong's colonial past. Air-con buses operate from airport and around the city. Get into a double-deck bus, that's the best and lazy way for sight seeing.

MTR - The Subway Mass Transit Railway MTR Review

MTR (Mass Transit Railway). The fastest and easiest way to travel around Hong Kong. Avoid rush hour. It reaches many parts of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. To experience the famous "Canned Sadine" feel, you can get a ride it during rush hours (around 8:30am) going towards Central where most white collars work.

Just jump in a taxi when you are: rushing in time, lost your way, or just LAZY! Charge per meter, starting from HKD15-

Taxi - there are 3 types: red, green, and blue. The red ones go everywhere. The blue ones only travel within Lantau Island. The green ones only travel within New Territories. All taxi, whatever color, can travel between the airport.

Green top mini bus, Hong Kong (CHINA) - Hong Kong

Green top mini bus, Hong Kong (CHINA)

MINI BUS. Minibus Review

Also known as "maxicabs"; there are 2 kinds - red top, and green top. Green top have fixed route, while Red Top don't. They are 16 seat public vans. Most of them serve as short connecting rides between MTR stations, train terminals, shopping areas and residential areas.

You can check this official page for the minibus route:
http://www.info.gov.hk/td/eng/transport/public_tran_index.html

As to where they all go, good luck! Even the locals don't know except the routes they frequent. I suspect there is no web site on all the routes either.
