Michelle, me, Kim @ LKF, Hong Kong (CHINA)
Lan Kwai Fong (Central) - the most popular place for drinking and dining with a vibrant mixture of different cultures.
LKF is not merely a place for pubs and discos. It boasts such a range of cuisine: from Italian to Mediterranean; from Japanese to Thai and of course Chinese. The cobbled streets around LKF burst into life after dark. Prices can comparatively high in this area.
Dress Code: Casual Chic.

A brand new live music lounge in Wanchai, decorated with lush velvet and a series of golden chandelier-lamps, a long curved marble bar, with an elongated mirror hanging above, dominate the space.
Live music resident bands every night from 9:30pm.
Happy Hour: Daily 5pm – 9:30pm, drinks at special prices. The wine is good here. FREE SNACK BUFFET during happy hour. They usually serve at around 6pm, not too early. I love the chocolate fountain (with fresh strawberry & grapes) and salami. Sometimes they even have salmon pastry. Yum!!!
Jam Night: Jam with the bands. Every Sunday, 9:30pm -2am
Address: Shop B, 33 Lockhart Road, Wanchai

Tucked away down a tiny side street, gecko is a great place for private parties (birthday party) and cozzy after-dinner watering hole.
Good DJ on Sat night. You can dance the night out with hip crowd. Drinks little cheaper than other dancing places. And... they serve the famous Absinte!!!
Live jazz on Tue and Wd nights... however, I found the place is too small for live jazz, and a bit too noisy for that.
Address: LG/F, Ezra Lane, Lower Hollywood Road, Central
Directions: a back alley In between LKF and Soho

This Japanese Rock band was FANTASTIC!!!
Small cozy bar offering free live music nightly, this unpretentious bar is a good hang out for live music fans. Local indie bands play on weekends, quality and style depends... try out your luck. Happy hour is generous: all day Monday, Tuesday to Thursday all day except 10pm to midnight, and Friday to Sunday all day except 9pm to 1am. It's not difficult to find long hair cool musician here, and you'll be surprised to find out that some of them are CEO of big companies in their day jobs!

Marcia and Friends Jazz Performance @ Fringe Club
Whether you are finishing your Hollywood Road treasure hunt or just want a little sobriety / culture break from the nearby Lan Kwai Fong drinking sprees, I recommend you to spend some time here for a little culture side-step. There are live music performances every Wed and Fri. And from time to time have art exhibitions and poetry recitals. A chance to get a taste the air of the local art scene.
The Roof Garden is like an oasis in the middle of central with an intoxicating view looking up at the srurrounding highrises. Light meals, tapas and bbq food is served daily, Monday to Saturday from 12pm til late. There is also a buffet lunch on Saturday too. Enjoy alternative drinking upstairs in the new Fotogalerie, surrounded by stark white walls and framed photographs.
Drink are rather cheap compared in other bars in Lan Kwai Fong area.

me on stage @ Insomnia (HONG KONG)
Insomnia is one of the busiest venues in Lan Kwai Fong. They have a good resident band. Music here is 90s dance pop, crowds mainly executives, airline crews, and tourists age 20-30s and above. If you are going for a conversation, better stick to the bar area which opens out onto the street and gives you a great view of the endless human traffic. You don’t have to leave until 5am, and you’ll only have to wait a while for it to open up again at 8am for a breakfast beer.

Gedion @ Causeway Bay (HONG KONG)
In Causeway Bay, the streets are all a-buzz with shops, busy bars, packed cinemas and interesting restaurants. Causeway Bay is one of the main shopping areas in Hong Kong, but it is not always cheap. Experience the fascinating neon lights in a night out in Hong Kong!

If you are lucky enough to visit Hong Kong during Christmas, you can see these incredible lightings along sides of Victoria Harbour, surrounding Tsim Sha Tsui East, Nathan Road, Central, and Causeway Bay area.

Situated just above Lan Kwai Fong, The EDGE used to be my hangout place, but seldom be there after they changed their redisent band this year. They used to have a big crowd of European expats, and now filled with local youngers and ABCs.
A stylish dance club with two bars, dance floor, live music performance, private booths, lounge and the balcony.
Address: G/F, the Centrium, 60 Whndham Street, Central
