Getting TO/AROUND: The State Railway of Thailand operates train services from HuaLamPhong train station to allregions of the country and Don Muan International Airport (opposite the Airport Terminal 1) at reasonaly prices. There's special English speaking counter at HuaLamPong selling joint tickets (train / bus / boat). Usually, it is not a porblem getting a sleeper on the same day. But if you are travelling on peak season and you want to secure an Air-Conditioned sleeper, then you should bought your tickets 1-2 days earlier.

Getting TO/AROUND: The "samlor" offers exciting rides within the city. It is IMPORTANT to settle the fare before proceeding. Fare range vary widely depending on your bargaining power. Normally they asked for 80 Bhat wherever you go. I got one ride as cheap as 30 Bhat, the driver brought me to temples in 3 hours, he waited for me while I browse inside the attractions. Why was it so cheap? Because I agreed to stop over some "tourist shops" of his choice i.e. jewellery shops & tailors. I didn't have to spend money on these shops, but the driver got free gasoline as commission for bringing tourists inside these shops. This is a good method to hire your personal driver cheaply, provided that you have plenty of time.

Getting TO/AROUND: Availabel 24 hours within the city. Flag down rate is 35 Bhat for first 2 km and less than 5 Bhat per km hece. Highway tolls are paid by passengers. From airport based on meter plus 50 Bhat surcharge. Although they have the "Taxi-Meter" sign, bargain rate is the norm. They always ask for 100 Bhat within the city If you speak English or you looks like tourist. Bargaining is not really possible in peak travel season, try your luck!
