Nightlife Spot: DJ Station
The center of Bangkok's gay scene is without doubt Silom Soi 2, Soi 2 is widely considered to be 'more gay' than nearby Soi 4. The bars get hot and sweaty on weekends make it hard to move, let alone dance to the trendy underground sounds. Hot spots along this strip are the ever-popular DJ Station, a disco with drag shows and dancing guys.

Nightlife Spot: MINISTRY OF SOUND
Simply the best club I have ever been to in Bangkok. Great music, Good lighting, Big dance floor and chill out corners. I went there on April 12, when they had a Songkran Foam Party with a UK guest DJ called Lisa Loud. I don't like the foam though, very slippery while dancing. Cover charge 400 Bhat without drinks.

Bangkok has no single area for nightlife and the bars are spread out all over town with a few concentrations in areas such as Patpong, Silom Soi 2 and 4, Soi Sarasin and Lang Suan, Royal City Avenue, Banglumpoo, Soi Cowboy and Sukhumvit Soi 33, among others. The bars tend to be fairly cheap, with beers running to about 80 baht a bottle (Happy Hour 49 Bhat). Exceptions are hotel bars and franchise outlets such as Hard Rock Cafe and Planet Hollywood where drinks are considerably more expensive.

Patpong: PATPONG, Night Market

Besides sex shops, Patpong is also a large night market. The pavement along Silom and Patpong are transformed into a busy market for garments and other products after sunset. You can find everything here: ready-to-wear garments, imitation watches & bags, pirated CDs, Clocks, leather goods, handicrafts, etc. Bargaining is a must at this lively market. Everything is marked up 500% higher! I personally do not enjoy this style of bargaining-shopping, sort of tiring and time consuming.
