Fondest Memory: We took Dragon Air, flying directly from Hong Kong to Phuket. It was a bargain, HKD1050 return flights. It's always a bargain travelling in non-peak season, especially when they are having new airline competitions now in Asia. ust before landing, we managed to see these lovely islands of Phuket. Aren't they looks like those mountains in Guilin (Southern China)?

Fondest Memory: We arrived late at night, about 7pm. We took an airport transfer bus direct to our hotel in Kata. Well, actually, not direct, because they have to drop other passengers in other hotels, and also dropped by a travel agency, trying to sell us package. It took us about 1.5 hours to arrive at Kata Beach Resort.

Fondest Memory: International newspaper available in the hotel, there's even German paper!!! Drive time from Phuket International Airport is approximately 1 hour. While 20 minutes away to Patong’s nightlife centre.

Fondest Memory: Kata Beach is great for couples. Many restaurants, diving operators, shops etc. This hotel have a kind of village feel which is great. Kata Beach also provides a lot of trees which can be very comforting when the midday sun is burning your socks out.

Fondest Memory: Phuket has a two season sub-tropical climate. The rainy (low) season runs from April to November and the hot (high) season from December to March. Average daytime temperatures rarely move outside the 36º Celsius range.

Fondest Memory: The best time for visiting Phuket is between November and February - during these months it rains least and is not too hot. The peak tourist months are December and January - the water is calm and clear, many people are at the beaches and every evening is party time at most of the typical night life streets. If you are looking for the least crowded months for relaxed and quiet holidays then come in May, June and September. The water is wild and it might rain more often but strolling down a beach at this time of year without seeing other people has its own intimacy.
