Windmill in Gotland
This page is about Gotland, a beautiful island located in the middle of the Baltic sea with the old medieval city of Visby as "capital".
This is the place where I've spent many many summers, even if I know the island very well I can't stop going back there, it's just too amazing. Look (and enlarge) my pictures and you'll understand.

(This page used to be my Sweden-page but as they included Gotland as a destionation I moved the page to its right location)
Some short facts about Gotland
-Located in the middle of the Baltic sea between the Swedish mainland and the Baltic states.
-About 57000 inhabitants
-The only city is Visby, 22000 inhabitants
-Other larger towns are Hemse, Klintehamn, Roma, Slite and Fårösund
-92 churches, most of them are more than 500 years old
-A ringwall in Visby which is 3,5 km long
-80 miles of coast (800 km)
-The island where Pippi Longstocking was recorded
