A view from "La Bastille"
The reason why I know this city is because I was there during the summer 2001 to study French. The city is, what I believe, an ordinary French city with a city center and some smaller "surburbs". There is also a really nice tram here (I took it every day to the campus).
Unfortunally I can't write more about the opportunities to go skiing (the closeness to the Alpes) but as I was here in the summer I never had the chance to experince that and in consequence I can't give you any tips.

In Place Grenette, do NOT go to La Priviloge Restaurant. The food is mediocre & the servce is BAD. The owner is mean & the staff isn't much better. Go to Bistro Romain, or Sporting Cafe (crepes) or to Hagaan Daz (ice cream & dessert), but NOT to Priviloge

What a nice city to go to school in. I was trying to find tips on Anjou, France (apparently there are none) and ran across your page. I will enjoy exploring your others.
