Paris is a really nice (and big) city in southern Europe. If you come there as a tourist you won't have any problem filling a whole week with activities as there are plenty of things to see and visit. If you're tired of sightseeing you can go shopping (specially famous brands of fashion) or take a Cafe au lait in a cafe.
Paris is also very special for me because I worked there during the spring 2001.

BIENVENUE!

-You might still find prices in text given in francs, the official currency of France is from January 1st 2002 the Euro and nothing else, I will try to update my pages soon...
-As far as I can I've tried to give the lines and stations if you want to go to a place by public transportation. However I can NOT guarantee these are correct.
SOME USEFUL PHRASES IN FRENCH
As French is the main language in France and many frenchmen don't speak English (or do not just bother to) I thought it might be helpful to include some French phrases to learn.
Good morning/Good afternoon - Bonjour
Good evening - Bonsoir
Thank you - Merci
Please - S'il vous plaît
Goodbye - Au revoir
Yes/No - Oui/Non
Do you speak English? -Parlez-vous Anglais?
I don't speak French - Je ne parle pas Français
I don't understand - Je ne comprends pas
Could you speak more slowly please - Pourriez-vous parler plus lentement s'il vous plaît
Where is the bathroom? - Où sont les toilettes?

GOOD LUCK!/BONNE CHANCE!

Yes I agree Etap hotels are very good value. However this was the first one I stayed in in Paris and compared with the ones I've stayed in Germary the breakfast was very poor

My first trip to Europe is coming up, and while I'm going to stay in London, Paris is definitely on my second trip itinerary. Thank you for the good tips!
