Welcome to my home page :)

by Nanumi - last update: Feb 17, 2003

This page is going to be under perpetual construction for most of my travels took place at least several years back.
I was born and brought up in Poland and I have always wanted to be a professional traveller - much to my disappointment it was explained to me at tender age of seven or nine that a profession like that (especially in communism) did not exist...I've decided then to become a postman since it'd have given me an opportunity to wander around and check out how others live :)

I've left Poland in 80s to study languages in one the most then available for eastern Europeans exotic places i.e. Tashkent. Subsequently I was lucky to get yet another scholarship in Pakistan. I have survived Brezniev, Chernienko, Andropov, Zia-ul-Haq - I have gracefully exited the Asian scene with appearance of Gorbachov. I will try to describe in my subsequent travelogues how I eventually grew up (politically and socialy) to become a social worker. So bear with me - I'm working on it :)
Upon graduating from Tashkent University I returned to Poland and shortly thereafter I took off to the US via Europe - got a scholarship in political sc. dept. there (that's another story). UN wasn't hiring upon my subsequent graduation so I decided to study again and become a social worker. So here I am, several years later, looking back with some nostalgy and looking forward with great curiosity...
