Baska is the best-known tourist centar on Krk!



Baska is the most popular tourist centre on the island of Krk, the Adriatic's biggest island. The position of Baska has ensured it uninterrupted growth and prosperity, and in this day and age, a distinctive spot on the tourist scene, Baska being one of the Top Ten of the tourist destinations of the Adriatic Sea. It is located in a gentle valley and in a bay surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. It has a picturesque background of the rocky mountains of Velebit and the islet of Prvic. The 1,800m long, pebble beach is totally protected and is said to be one of the most beautiful in the Adriatic. This beach is just one of 30 suitable for swimmers.

The main beach, Baska's Vela Plaza is right in the centre of town and is surrounded by bars, restaurants, cafes, hotels and private apartments. This beach is a natural pebble beach, 1800m long, which can take several thousand swimmers with ease. It's particularly suitable for children and non-swimmers. A Blue Flag was awarded to the beach in 1999. On the beach you can hire pedal boats, windsurfers, parasols and deckchairs.

Baska has a wide selection of museums, cultural events and sports facilities. Baska actually has one of the most impressive and most ancient cultures in Europe. Baska is not just known in history and literature for its famed Ba?ka Tablet, but also for the remains of the Roman settlement and monuments of religious art.

Accommodation in Baska is known for its high quality, irrespective of whether you pick a campsite, private accommodation or a hotel.
