Carmel- is my all time favorite place on earth it has everything. There are lovely shops, restaurants and a great beach. From Monterey you drive the 17 mile drive. Along the coast you see the beautiful big houses were the rich tourists find a place to stay... Clint Eastwood was the mayor of Carmel for a few years. In Carmel are a lot of great galleries with beautiful and very expensive paintings... I love the paintings of Thomas Kinkade.
