THE CASTLE

Somewhere between Wauchula and Arcadia in a place called Weird and Wacky Florida and with an address of Ona Florida is a architectural wonder. Here is a monument created by a very talented and witty artist by the name of Howard Solomon. The pictures included here can not really do justice to the talent of this man.

Entrance Walk

From the parking lot and through the main gate you travel on a yellow brick walkway to the castle. The yellow bricks are only stamped out with yellow paint.

Main Entrance

The main entrance to the castle is guarded by two armoured knights called DAY and NIGHT. Also cannons protect the entrance. The exterior of the castle is made out of 22 by 34 used newspaper printing plates.Almost everything in and around this castle is recycled or junked. It has turned out to be a sixty foot tall and 12,000 square foot monument.
