My husband and I visited the Bahamas for our anniversary in 2000. Since we are poor graduate students, we chose to do one of those time-share deals where you get a good deal on your vacation and then you have to sit though the sales pitch. As long as you don't let the sales pitch ruin your day, it is not a bad deal. We were in Fort Lauderdale for 2 days, then on a cruise to the Bahamas for 3 days, then we cruised back to Fort Lauderdale and drove to Orlando (Universal Studios was great!) for 3 days at the end. It was a very relaxing vacation and it was actually pretty cheap, if you avoid the tourist traps. For me, it was paradise...I had my husband all to myself without telephones, computers, or in-laws!</p>
