Biala Fabryka (White Factory) in Lodz.
I grew up in Lodz. I have great memories of the city. The people are very nice and helpful. The schools that I attended were excellent. And I was never bored in Lodz.
My favorite places in Lodz are: Piotrkowska Street (you can do anything and everything there; Piotrkowska Street has: galleries, shopping, restaurants, cafes, many, many clubs etc.), Lodz Opera (the second most renowned and second largest opera house in Poland after Warsaw which hosts the largest opera house in Europe) is an excellent venue for high quality performances; Poznanski Palace and its museum, Lagiewniki Forest . These few probably top my list but there is so much more to this unique city.
Lodz-born pianist Artur Rubinstein wrote about the Polish seasons, "There is no mistake about them, they are what a symphony is supposed to be: four perfect movements in intimate harmony with one another."
