Baile Átha Cliath

by heli - last update: Aug 31, 2002

The fair town of Dublin has witnessed very many terrible historic moments. Still, the city is alive and well, maybe too international, maybe not, but still its history lives in the present. There are many great places to visit in Dublin if you are familiar with the Irish history. I found myself very distracted by the history but tried to enjoy my stay. And I did. Baile Atha Cliath is beautiful in its own way. Not like Galway or Killarney, not like Cork. Worth visiting, but do not stay in Dublin all your vacation. And if you decide to remain in Dublin, at least visit the GPO and the Kilmainham Gaol and places like that with historical significance.
