Safranbolu Travel Guide: 97 reviews and 314 photos
Safranbolu is beautiful...not the most imaginative description, but it's true. The whole village consists of Ottoman houses, some restored with help from UNESCO, others slowly disintegrating. The town is beginning to get touristy, but mainly with Turkish daytrippers...we didn't hear a single foreign voice, and that was in high summer. I've got some interesting and amusing tales to tell about our accommodation in Safranbolu, but they will have to wait a while...I have quite a few other pages I want to create first...

BTW, Kastamonu is the nearest city I could find to Safranbolu! And Zonguldak is a port west of Amasra...<a href="http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/17022.html">

PS What do people think about black and white photos on VT pages? I have the same photo in colour on <a href="http://www.virtualtourist.com/m/.133814/188/?s=Q">my Turkey page</a>...should I change it? Let me know please!
