I only spent five days in Lebanon - after Syria it was very expensive and very Westernized, and crossing the border was a bit of a reverse culture shock. There were banks! There was McDonalds, and a Starbucks! The first day was spent in a kind of daze, doing lots of things not available in Syria, but soon the attraction of a Western lifestyle wore off and I began to notice the scars of the 17 year long war. After 3 days I moved on to <a href="http://www.virtualtourist.com/m/.133814/202/?s=x">Tarablus (Tripoli)</a> in the north, and unfortunately the money was used up a little too quickly so I had to return back to Damascus early without seeing any more of this beautiful country.
