Away from Beirut, I only visited Tarablus/Tripoli, which was a bit of a shame. I would have loved to have spent more time exploring the coast, and maybe make a detour into the mountains, but time, money and snow put paid to that idea! But Tripoli (known is Arabic as Tarablus) is a beautiful old city with lots to see...for me, this was more "authentically Lebanese" than Beirut.
If you're interested in learning Arabic, please see my Middle East page for details.
