Tbilisi

Abanotubani and Narikala, Tbilisi
### June 2005 saw a return trip to Tbilisi...this page was written after my 2001 trip, but will be updated with new pictures and comments soon :@P

I'd read beforehand that Tbilisi was a beautiful city, so had planned to spend a couple of days there...well those few days soon became weeks, and I never became bored with walking up and down Rustavelis Gamziris (the main street) eating khachapuri and drinking odd soda drinks, exploring the old town, discovering new parks and churches, visiting the suburbs, or just staying at my friends house eating delicious Georgian food. I spent a lot of time walking, most of it on the main streets, but strangely I don't have any photos of that part of the city.

This page is dedicated to Eka and her family, who took me in and treated me like one of the family on and off over six weeks.
For more on Georgia, visit my <a href="http://www.virtualtourist.com/m/.133814/196/?s=G">Georgien</a> page.

A good page about Tbilisi with loads of information about the city is Tbilisi Pastimes and to keep up to date with events in Georgia, try Civil Georgia On-Line Magazine .

Actually asking people waiting for a marshrutka or bus is very helpful, especially if you do not like to spent 2 hours walking everyday! Even with some basic knowlegde of Georgian or Russian you will be understood
