A big wide open space in the middle of London. There are so many things to do and to see. You can hire roller blades, go horse riding, listen to the nutters at speakers corner on Sunday, look at the wonderful statues, say hello to the squirrels and feed the ducks. The picture is of one of the statues that I was quite impressed with.

Directions: Middle of London. The tube stations around the perimeter are Hyde Park Corner, Marble Arch and Green Park. Or if you are on Oxford Street just walk to the end, you can't miss it.

Small market, lots of clothes, art, and touristy things. More English crafts at the weekend and on Monday you will find antiques. There are some good food stalls upstairs.

A great way to see London. From the Thames. There is a round trip you can do, going past the Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. It comes with commentary. You can also take the boat from Embankment to Greenwich or vice-versa. This trip takes about an hour. It is a highly recommendable thing to do, especially if it is a nice day.

Directions: You can catch the boat from quite a few different locations on the Thames. The one I usually use is at Embankment. When you come out of Embankment tube station, go down to the river.

It is the royal botanical gardens. Plants have been collected there from all over the world since before Victorian times. It is so wonderful to walk around there, enjoying the surroundings. I would recommend a whole day, it is very big, with lots of glass houses to explore.

Address: Kew. On the District Line.

It has a fantastic market. I would highly recommend that any visitor go there. It is the most active on the weekends so it is best to go early around 10am. It gets extremely busy after noon. It is a good place to buy alternative clothes, shoes, souvenirs, jewellery and music. In the stables there is lots of second hands goods including furniture, and antiques. Close to the stables are lots of stores selling food, especially Chinese, Thai and Vietamese. For a large tub of food, it is £3.50.

Address: Camden Town is on the Northern Line.

This is a totally crazy place, at least, I think it is. It is only on Sundays, starting in the morning. Anyone who wants to say something can do so there. All they have to do is stand on a box. And that is the law. You get total nutters, lots of religious people from different denominations, political discussions. You can join in with the discussion. An highly recommendable thing to do.
