  • We chose not to pay the additional money to go up into the monument. It was just exciting to visit this wonder and watch the cars in the traffic circle! Be sure to access the monument from the tunnel that goes under the street. You could get killed trying to access the mounment from the street!

  • The Louvre is an AMAZING place! Normally, I would never consider going to an art museum, but the Louvre is special! There is absolutely so much to see and you could never go through everything in a day! You don't even know where to look when you get inside because in every space there is something facinating! We found the Italian art amazing. We did the express tour, but I would have loved to have spent several days in this marvelous area! The first Sunday of the month, admission is free. The other Sundays are half price. It will be crowded, but not to the point that you can't get in. Also....use the Metro shopping arcade entrance (Palais Royal) to access the Louvre....you won't encounter any lines. We bought our tickets through an automated machine (they do have English directions) and whizzed through! Wonderful way to spend a day in Paris!

  • Strolling on Avenue Champs Elysees is something that you can do on your way from the Arc of Triomph. It is a beautiful street with lots of shops to stop in. We chose not to buy anything on the street as we found items cheaper elsewhere but it is always fun to look! It is a beautiful street, but very busy. We chose to sit at a cafe and watch the world go by. Very nice!

  • Paris Notre Dame de Paris
  • What a beautiful cathedral!

  • This was one of the high points of our Paris tour! I could write a book about Notre Dame! We decided that we would go on Sunday during Mass and it turned out to be a truly moving experience. Before I go any further, this is one of the places that I need to say, BEWARE of pickpockets! There are many people touring and there are even signs up, so heed the warnings. Hearing the organ and the choir that Sunday was so moving. Take note of everything around you. I noticed so many people walked the area around the chairs in about 10 minutes. We were in Notre Dame around 1 hour and we came back the 2nd day to see it again! I highly suggest a Sunday tour during the Masses....it will be an experience that you won't forget!

  • Typically, if you take one of the many boat cruises on the Seine, you will pass by the other Statue of Liberty. It is worth seeing and in a beautiful location on the Seine. She is standing in a rather suprising location I think:)

  • Paris Eiffel Tower
  • The start of a beautiful day!
  • by IslandGirl10

  • Even though I said that there is more to Paris than the Eiffel Tower, it is why we initially visited Paris. I was not disappointed. The Eiffel Tower looks very different throughout the city, is a very interesting subject to photograph and the only place I was actually able to photograph the whole tower was from Rive Seine. We stayed at the Tower for 2 hours. It is a must see at night when on the hour the Tower twinkles! (well, at least it looks that way....someone did a very good job with strobe lighting!) The Tower costs 10.20 Euro to go to the top of and even though I did think that was expensive, it really is a must see from the very top. We went to all the floors and I have to say (and this is coming from someone who has a fear of height) that the view from the top is nothing short of spectacular! Be sure that it is on your list of must sees! There is a contest on the Eiffel Tower website....if you have time, give it a whirl....you might be able to win free admission!
