Hi,
I spent in NYC about 5 days but I did not see anything but Manhattan Island.
As far as the NY state is concerned, I spent there 9 weeks working in a camp for kids. It was between Kingstone and Middletown, close to Liberty and Woodstock, surrounded by the awesome Catskill Mountains.
I also made a trip to Niagra Falls which is really fantastic.
