But the main two are Heathrow and Gatwick,Usually it is,however most tours of the British Isles begin and end with the english capital.Also there are many sea ports you can enter from the main land of europe also.
The best way is riding the rails.The most popular way is with a britrail pass,but you have to buy it out side the u.k.The pass is good for unlimited rail travel through out England,Scotland and wales. Also another popular way of travel is with a Britexpress Card for bus travel,It's good on the National Express,Caledonian Express/stagecoach,and London Express.They serve around 1500 destinations.
