  • I fully recommend this hotel as somewhere to stay on De Tham Street. It's about a 2 minute walk from the Sinh cafe and is positioned on a corner with a large souvenir shop at the entrance. We stayed there on 2 seperate occasions on our trip, room prices between $12 and $15 (no breakfast).

The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are quite spacious & clean with a great view from the surrounding balconies of the bustle of the area. Be prepared for a bit of noise though!

Rex Hotel Ho Chin Minh City: The Rex
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • We stayed at the Rex for our final night in Saigon after deciding to blow the budget and live it up in the roof terrace bar. We paid $90 for a room including buffet breakfast.

The Rex hotel is huge and easy to get lost in. At the moment (April 05) there's a lot of renovation work going on so it did feel as though we were staying in a half-finished hotel!

The rooftop pool was handy for some final day sun-torching and the breakfast was great. Check before you stay there though on the progress of the work going on as it will be much better once finished.

    Hotel 211
  • Tip Rating: [Not enough ratings yet]
  • Satisfaction:
  • We stayed here for 2 nights as the reservation we had made at the Spring House Hotel fell through when they didn't have a room for us!

The 211 was fine, $15 for a room including breakfast. Nothing particularly significant about it though, I warmed much more to the Quyen Thanh Hotel just around the corner.

I liked De Tham too. I remember the Saigon Bar. It's funny how the first thing we all notice about Saigon is the motrobikes.
