snowshoes are waiting for you
If you like hiking, you'll like snowshoe hiking.
Eric Delale (phone 06 70 796980) and Hervé LeSobre (phone 06 86 66 87 68) will be delighted to guide you through the valleys of Aulps, La Manche and many others in winter or in summer (without snowshoes of course)
As graduated alpinist mountaineers, nature guides and first-aid workers, they know every single path, guide you safely and show you the local animals' footprints. Together we made many interesting hikes and discovered local mountain huts. A great experience !!
Equipment: Eric and Hervé provide you the necessary snowshoes. You can also hire them in the many local sportshops.

Montriond lake
Nearby is Lac Montriond, a favourite with tourists and locals alike as a naturally formed lake used for recreational boating and swimming. In a beautiful setting, it has a couple of restaurants overlooking the water.

Les Mines d'Or Morzine
The place is called like this as many years ago, a farmer pretended having found gold here. Many envied him and tried their chances, but never, any gold ever was digged up.
From the town hall, follow the Fox path (sentier du Renard) along the Dranse river and you'll end up at the Nyon waterfall (+-1h15). Cross the parking an there you go to "les Mines d'Or" (1h30) where you have this beautiful view on the Mines d'Or lake. About 20 to 25 km but it is really worth it.
In summer you can reach les Mines d'Or by car too. Parking is available.
Guides are available at Maison de la Montagne next to the tourist office

Montriond Lake
Take the cable-car to Super Morzine, from where you have a wonderful view on Morzine. Follow the path at your left hand to La Crète de Zorre. Then the path to the Belvedere through thousands of alpine flowers. At the Belvedere the view on the Montriond Lake is breathtaking. Go back until you cross the path to la route des Crètes, until you arrive again to the cable-car station. Hehe you made a 25 km trip. Nice isn't it ?

Golf Morzine Les Gets
On the Proclou Plateau at an altitude of 1600m is situated the Morzine/ Avoriaz golf course. A challenging 9 hole par 36 course with a total length of 2930m that requires a degree of physical fitness. It has a superb outlook with a view over the summits of the Haut-Chablais and down into the spruce forests. Even more exciting is Les Gets/ Morzine's par 70, 18 hole course in a fantastic setting with views of Mont Blanc. Equipment may be hired. For the more serious golfer there are courses at Evian and Chamonix - prebooking essential.

the Montriond lake (view from the parking)
If you are a cross-country ski lover, 250 km of well marked out tracks are waiting for you.
Go by car (parking available) or by shuttle to the Montriond lake (5 km from Morzine) and make a very nice lake tour . You can even walk further on to the Albertans village with his old wooden houses and to the Ardent waterfall. With a little luck you cross a chamois or a white hare in this beautiful landscape.
Tracks are prepared and maintained daily. Alpine chalets pepper the loops, inviting skiers to take a break and have a light snack of Savoyard fare.

Husky rides on a sleigh
Driving a dog-sleigh is an original activity, which takes place at La Baume or around Drouzin le Mont near Morzine and Avoriaz.

The Dranse river and Morzine
Follow the path along the Dranse river and you'll end up at the Nyon waterfall. It's really great for a family outing into the quiet woods of the valley where the only sounds are those of the crunching of snow underfoot.
