The Halebid temple Hoysaleshwara is a great exhibition of sculpture. The Hoysalas dedicated this temple to Shiva. Halebid literally means “the ruined city” This temple is twice the size of Belur's Chennakeshava Temple and the figures are larger as well.

We leave our base in Hassan for Somnathpur (Somanathapur) and Mysore via Srirangapatnam (Srirangapattana)
