"Somnathpur (Somanathapur)" Somanathapur by cadzand

Somanathapur Travel Guide: 8 reviews and 9 photos

About 32 kilometers from Srirangapatnam lies Somnathpur, a place well known for its elaborate carvings and miniature sculptures of another Hoysala temple, dedicated to Lord Kesava, which is also located here.

Although it is the smallest of the Hoysala temples we visited as far, it is the one which moves us the most, because of its intimacy.

From here we travel along to Mysore and Srirangapatnam

Beautiful pictures and interesting info on the impressive temple. I am surprised it's the smallest of the Hoysala temples. Outstanding picture of rural life as well!
