If you're going to visit Cape Town think about staying in Simon's Town. This is the undiscovered jewel of the Cape - great weather, a yacht club, a naval base, lovely beaches, whale watching (in season), penguins, a famous dog "Just Nuisance" and wonderful sea-food restaurants at very reasonable prices.
I have a lovely home there with commanding views over False Bay - it's luxury accommodation at an incredibly reasonable rate - my wife, my little boy and I use it at least once every 18 months - we live in the UK but rent it out when we're not there. The 'pent-house' is the best!!
