"Tai Po & Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree" Tai Po by cherrykirsch

Although Tai Po today is but another "concrete jungle" in the New Territories, it preserves the scenic beauty of an old fishing village. Famous for pearl fishing in ancient times.

Tai Po started to become a new town under government planning since 1960s. Tai Po houses a population of about 300,000.

My favourite place Tai Po Waterfront Pak is located between Tai Po Industrial Estate and Tolo Harbour. It is wonderful for a whole family to spend their holiday and enjoy the nature.

Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree

These two famous banyan trees are a favourite with local villagers who come to burn joss sticks and incense papers hoping their wishes will come true. During Chinese New Year, many Hong Kong people make a pilgrimage to this spot to make their Chinese New Year wishes. Participate in this tradition and your wish may come true.

The trees are so famous that even a promotion programme by 7-Eleven Convenience Store with Snoopy "Travel in Hong Kong" includes them.
