a delicious Gourmet Pizza
Our driver / guide showed us the direction on the map where a lot of restaurants were located, like this we arrived in this neighbourhood.
This Italian restaurant looked very modern, the staff was very helpful.
And the most important the food was delicious.
There was only one but . . . as we were sitting near the entry door, and this door did not close entirely every time someone entered or left the restaurant, it was kind of chilly / windy.
So if it is cold outside, do not sit near the door . . .
There was a big variety on pats and pizzas. (See the website for the menu)
My choice was : Gourmet Pizza Carnevale : Pizza with a selection of meats including pepperoni, ham, bacon and cabanossi with our home blend of barbecue sauce.
Favorite Dish: Gourmet Pizza Carnevale - 15,90 AUS$
(10 AUS dollars = +/- 6 euros or +/- 7.5 US dolars)

Bridgewater Bay Beach Cafe
Our second day along the Great Ocean Road (from Warrnambol to Robe), we stopped in Bridgewater for lunch.
The Bridgewater Bay Beach Cafe was located on the beach, from the terrace you had a splendid view over the big Ocean... unfortuneattely for us it was to cold to have lunch at the terrace.
I had an open Sandwich with smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers and onions - the sandwich was so delicious that I even forgot to make a picture of it (to post with my VT tip)
The restaurant was open 7 days a week.
This restaurant had also an information section, where you could hire mountain bikes, Ice/baits for fishing sales, pick nick backpacks were available, Seals by Seals Tours, Boogie Board and Surf Board for hire and numerous hiking trails for all abilities

Soups and vegetables buffet
Our driver/guide advised us this restaurant. And I must say that it was an excellent choice.
It was one price : 12 AUS$
And first there was soup, then the Pasta buffet and then the dessert buffet.
Of course this was heaven on earth for the big eaters. You could fill up your plate as many times as you wanted.
The food was delicious. And we finished our meal with a great dessert with fresh fruit, chocolate pudding and ice cream . . . yummy
Favorite Dish: The Lasagne

Chicken Schnitzel Roll
On our trip from Melbourne to Warrnambool, along the Great Ocean Road, we stopped at Yat Zies cafe in Lavers Hill.
Yat Zies is famous for its gourmet pastries.
At Yat Zies we had a quick lunch, as we still had to drive a long way and there was still a lot to see and to do that afternoon.
I had a delicious Chicken Schnitzel Roll and a cafe latte.
Next to the lunch area there was also a small gift shop (and small snacks) and a Tourist information section.
Outside in the garden there were several platforms to feed the colourful parrots.
Favorite Dish: Chicken Schnitzel Roll - 6.50 AUS$
Cafe latte - 3.0 AUS$

Brunetti's at City Square in Melbourne
During our sightseeing tour in Melbourne, we could not miss the busy and beautiful Swanston Street, like this we arrived at the City Square (corner of Flinders Lane & Swanston Street).
In the shadow of St Paul’s Cathedral, there was a restaurant with a terrace, so this looked like a great place to have lunch.
I did choose the Crepe Semplice - speciality of the house - Speciality Savoury Crepes with Ham and mozzarella cheese.
I tasted good, but for a big man as I am, well I could eat more, but on the other hand it was okee for my diet . .
Favorite Dish: Crepe Semplice

Kangaroo Fillet
After a whole day of sightseeing in Melbourne, we wanted to have a good diner.
So we entered the Rubicon (written Rub!con) Cafe - Bar - Restaurant along Errol street.
It looked a very trendy place, with a big bar, and a section with seats to talk and enjoy your aperitif; it looked a bit like a lounge bar.
There was a menu card, and the specialities of the day were written on a black board on the wall behind us.
I did choose the Balsamic marinated Kangaroo fillet cooked medium rare with Tuscan potatoes, rocket, semi dried tomatoes and red vinegar reduction. It was deliiiiiiiiiscious.
For desert I had a piece of lemon cake - jummy
This was certainly a place to return.

Lemon Cake - 7.50 AUS$

Chicken Parmagiani at Errols
After the rooms were divided, the laundry was done; we decided to go out for diner.
We crossed the busy Victoria Street and like this we arrived in Errol Street - a street full of bars and restaurants.
We did choose to eat at Errol’s. This restaurant looked modern and spacious.
There were plenty of delicious dishes on the menu to choose.
I started with Nachos - corn chips topped with melted cheese, tomato salsa, sour crème and avocado dip
My main course: Chicken Parmagiana - topped with Napoli sauce melted mozzarella served with chips and salad
It was delicious . . . and my main course was too big, I could not eat it all, however I am (was) a big eater, it was too much . . .
(The Greek salad in the photos was eaten by my room mate Jan)
Favorite Dish: Nachos - 9.50 AUS$
Cicken Parmagiana - 17.50 AUS$
2 Victoria Bitter - 10 AUS$ (5 AUS$ per drink)

Hot Roast Beef Roll with chips
So on Day 8, we stopped in Glenrowan for lunch - Glenrowan the place where the local hero Ned Kelly was finally caught.
In Glenrowan there were several places to eat, we where with a big group so we did split up, like this we all got our food quicker then to eat all in the same place.
I had my lunch at the Kellys Cookhouse cafe. I was not really hungry so I did choose the Hot Roast beef Roll with some chips and to drink a café latte
After lunch there was still some time to sit and relax and enjoy the sun, och the warmth of sun did so good especially after a very cold morning walk in Beechworth.
Favorite Dish: Hot Roast Beef Roll - 4.50 AUS$
Chips - 1 AUS$
Cafe latte - 2.50 AUS$
Address: along the main road in Glenrowan

Beechworth Bakery
As we wanted to visit Beechworth early in the morning, we needed an early breakfast. So the Beechworth Bakery was the ideal place for that, also it was near our hotel in the same street - and it was open from 6am to 7pm.
There was a great choice on cakes and sandwiches, so indeed it was not so easy to choose.
The service was great and pretty quick
I went for the toasted sandwich on thick bread with bacon, eggs, and cheese and to drink a café latte in a Mug.
After our early morning visit at Beechworth I returned to this Bakery to buy some chocolate cakes and some delicious croissants to eat at lunch.

Mixed Grill
After a long drive we finally arrived in Beechworth.
We had dinner in the Tannswells Commercial hotel (which had also a restaurant).
After we made a choice from the menu, we had to go to a back room to command our food (and to pay it). Also for the drinks we needed to pick them up from the bar in the next room.
At first this was a bit strange, but afterwards it looked very handy, as sometimes it can be difficult to obtain separate bills whenever you go eating with a big group.
The plates were well filled and the food tasted very good - so were the beers.
Above the bar there was a copy of the armour of Ned Kelly.
This was a nice place to spend the evening.
Favorite Dish: Mixed Grill : A massive grilled selection of steak, saussage, chop, bacon, eggs and tomato served with gravy. served with chips and vegetables. (20.90 AUS $)
Address: 30 Ford Street, Beechworth

Price: US$11-20
