For many years the mysterious Easter Island was on my "want to visit" list.

And then I did see this Trans South America trip at the Djoser website (www.djoser.nl - Dutch travel agency), which started in Santiago de Chili and going overland towards Rio de Janeiro in Brasil.

So I thought why not add an extra week to the 4 week trip, like this I left a week earlier then the group, I had a week to discover Ester Island and I joined them a week later in Santiago to start the Trans South America roundtrip.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:an amazing, mysterious island
  • Cons:a long flight to get there (but wel worth it)
