Brussels : Capital of Europe
Brussels : a marvellous Metropolis with a big variety on great architecture, monuments and museums.
For me the Highlights of Brussels are the Grote Markt (La Grande Place) with the beautiful Guild Houses, Manneken Pis, the Mont des Arts with the museums, the Heysel area with the Atomium.
I live about 100 km from Brussels, so via the Highway 1 hour drive by car.
I must say that I do not visit Brussels very often. Mostly when I go to Brussels it is to visit a special exposition or a fair.
Another reason for going to Brussels is the location of our National Airport in Zaventem, which is often the real departure of my travel journeys.

|  | Korperwelten During the Christmas holidays I visited the exhibition of Korperwelten in the cellars of the slaughterhouse of Cureghem (Anderlecht).
I know it sound a bit lugubrious, an exhibition of body parts under a slaughterhouse.
But it surely was no horror show, it was very interesting and very educational. |
| | Art on Cows Last year there was a unique art project in the entire city.
Everywhere in the city you could see decorated cows.
It was a great sight. Some of these cows were real master pieces of art. |
