After a good night of sleep in the historical hacienda La Cienega (see my Cienega page) in Lasso, we visited the small village of Saquisili.
Saquisili is very famous because of its Thursday morning market (la Mercado de Saquisili).
It was only a short ride from Lasso to Saquisili.
We started at the animal market. And then we walked through the small streets in order to reach different plazas were other goods (like fruit and vegetables and textiles) were sold.
Our visit ended near the village cemetery.
To me, this market was much more colourful then the Otavalo market (see my Otavalo page). |
