Hotel am Alatsee: For a quiet vacation

    • Hotel Alatsee is about 7 Km west of Fuessen and I may highly recommend it for a quiet vacation in a great surrounding and at the same time at a place of historic mysteries.
    A small mountain-road will take you to Alatsee , you have to leave the car there and walk the last 300 meters to the restaurant.
    Hotelguests may also drive these last few meters and park directely at the hotel.
    Saturday and sunday the road will be closed for car-trafic ( except for HOTEL-guests)

    Unique Qualities: The whole area of Alatsee, including the hotel was once during the WW II a top-secret area of V-2 experiments.
    Some remains from that time are left over on the ground of the lake : false money, weapons, an old army-truck etc.

    Some people even believe that Nazi-treasures might be found in the lake, or the surrounding woods, but so far it is all just speculations...

    I was working in that restaurant for 1 year and had a great time in that remote and lovely area...
    It is a great place for a really QUIET vacation in nature and silence...

     Fantastic pictures of great facade at Heilig-Geist-Spitalkirche, Alatsee and Hohenschwangau palace! Thanks also for info on Linderhof and V-2 experiments!
