  wonderful city , when I was there , it just had been freshly allowed to tourists ;it was forbidden to foreigners before , when its CCCP name was Gorki

  so very nice city! I had an idea (twice) this year, to visit the city but both times it was delayed. your page tell me that the city is worth visiting

  Hi Michael, great that you were able to take a cruise to this lovely place, and had such a good translator. That "Lady with the Mirror" is a clever and unusual statue. Also the mother and son and of course the postman with his bicycle.

  I deserve a "Strafe" for not visiting N.Novgorod still, ha-ha! Though "off limits rule" didn't concern me all the times! Thank you for a look at this ancient Russian city from a point of view a foreigner - some thoughts looked very touching and amusing!

  I've been to that Gorki museum too! Great page about the city center. I've actually walked to the big yellow church that you saw from afar. Didn't see the giant staircase as I was standing on top! Should make my own page one day...

  Michael, excellent page about your time in Nizhniy Novgorod. So you were there on victory day, while I was on that day in Kamyanets-Podilsky (UA) where they also celebrated this event.
