This river looks rather small, but it is big enough for smaller hotel-cruise-ships.
The river in the middle of my pic is Moldau / Vltava and you may also see a lock in the back of my picture.

Parking your car in Melnik

Parking of cars in the old part of town and also in all the streets nearby is eighter restricted to local people or you have to pay rather high fees for the parking.
I was lucky to arrive at night, but it took me a lot of time to finally get a parking, where I could stay with my motorhome at night and would not have to feed the parking-machine every 2 hours during the next morning.

I would not mind the fees - BUT walking back ONLY to feed a parkingmeter is no fun at all

Get to Melnik by train

Going to Melnik by train will take a bit more than 1 hour from Prague, and it might save you from the problem , where to park your car.

How to find Melnik on your map ...

Melnik is about 40 Km north/east of Prague - not directely at the highway Prague-Teplice, but about 5 Km off the directe line.
