What a great page on a great place! Especially for a geologist like me, it is always nice to se "columnar joints" caused by cooling of a lava flow!

Interesting rock formations. Reminded me of the ones I saw near Vik, Iceland on the black sand beach.

Waw... the landscape is breathtaking. Those rock formations exist in Porto santo island also at Pico Ana Ferreira. Wonderfull photos! Really enjoyed!
