Vyskov is about 40 km east of Brno / Brünn and is a great and interesting place to visit for all those people who are interested in Eastblock airplanes, tanks and Helicopters You simply have to leave the highway and drive on direction Prirov and will pass by an old airfield that displayes certainly hundreds of old planes, helicopters, tanks and other military vehicles that you would never have been able to see during the times of the Communists. |

seamandrew Wed Dec 8, 2004 18:42 UTC From the pictures, I couldn't see any western built plane. I'm no expert of the Soviet aircrafts, but I know the American and Western European ones pretty well. Very interesting place. I'd love to sit in the cockpit of one of those MIG-21's. | rozehill Mon Dec 6, 2004 05:54 UTC Wonderful pictures and tips Michael, as usual | lotharlerch Sun Nov 28, 2004 16:38 UTC In CZ these planes form a museum, in Post-Sovietistan (Ukraine, Central Asia) you can still fly with them (eg. AN-24) on regular scheduled flights, even internationally, Tashkent - Bishkek. | olja1234 Sat Nov 27, 2004 21:22 UTC A little bit different page, but very, very interesting. I like it, Michael. |
