Zelena Hora Travel Guide: 28 reviews and 32 photos

Zelena Hora is an interesting example of a gothic-baroque-church

I had never heared of this place, before I saw the great pics of Manfred (MEdelmann) on his Zelena Hora-page...

...and so I decided to see this place myself !

just like Hungary:) we also have a huge number of gothic-baroque churches. Said between us, I adore these churches. Gothic is majestic, and baroque is beautiful. If we mix the both of them......:)

A genuine masterpiece by Giovanni Blasius (Czech Jan Blazej) Santini-Aichel (03.02.1677, Prague - 07.12.1723, Prague). His grandfather, Antonio Santini was born in Roveredo (German Aichel), but he later moved to Prague and settled there.

How cool is that. The elementary school I attended was called St. John Nepomucene (English) after the same saint! In Munich I also ran into the church with this name. The legend you described is the same I was taught as a child!
