RE: Marksburg -- definitely an off the beaten path Rhine attraction. We took the tour of the castle, but I'm not sure if they do one in English. Anyway, the German version was quite interesting!

Wie schoen! Das ist ja auh eine Seite ueber die Burgen im Rheintal! hahaha, me too, I remember the MS Helvetica stopping in Rudesheim and all the tourists leaving the ship, I always stayed on board!

A nice and entertaining page from a nice place but I prefer the Wachau and its wines and instead of Rüdesheimer the Irish coffee.

Your information and photos are both amazing! This looks like a great destination to visit, if you can get ahead of that crowd of 35,000 people!! Not quite the same as the Douro!!
