Gmunden am Traunsee

by globetrott - last update: Oct 18, 2002

Gmunden is well known for it's Schloss Orth - and while most of the people in Germany and Austria think it is a luxury-hotel - it simply is a wedding-license-bureau...
Gmunden is situated between Salzburg and Steyr - about halfway.
The town is situated on Traunsee - a lake surrounded by many high mountains
the town of Gmunden is well worth a visit - many of beautiful old baroque houses, like here the Townhall...

Looks soooo Austrian: neat and clean. Funny story about people that come here because of the TV show - and the castle looks wonderful for the wedding ceremony.
