That bus-ride will be included in the day-tickets of the Salzburg transportation system and the so-called "Salzburg-Card"
For Hangar-7 you have to considder, that the walking-distance from the terminus of Bus #2 to Hangar-7 is about 20 minutes, because you have to walk through the tunnel under the airfield.

a large car-park at Hangar-7 - Himmelreich

a large car-park at Hangar-7

drive by car to Hangar-7

You may drive with your private car directely to the Hangar-7 and park your car opposite of the great museum. It is a bit confusing that there are absolutely NO sign-posts telling you that this would be the parking for Hangar-7-visitors. I spoke about that to the lady at the reception of the museum, and she told me, plenty of people think that same way, except her boss, Mr. Red Bull...
Anyway, its great to have that parking, free of charge like the museum, and just opposite of the entrance of the building.

longtime parking at Airport Salzburg - Himmelreich

longtime parking at Airport Salzburg

park your car at the airport

Parking directely at the airport of Salzburg is quite expensive, especially when you fly to a distant destination and need to park your car for 10 or more days there.
The car-park is divided into 2 parts :
1)short-time-parking for up to 24 hours
2)longtime-parking , see the prices for that at my picture.
This parking DOES NOT make sense, when you just want to visit the museum of Hangar-7, because that is in a large distance, at the other side of the airfield.

When you go to Hellbrunn by car - Hellbrunn
When you go to Hellbrunn by car

Driving to Hellbrunn is easy also by car, in case that you know how to do it:
When coming from Vienna and other places east or west of Salzburg you better drive around the city of Salzburg on the highway, and take the exit in ANIF in the south of the city - Hellbrunn is just about 2 km from that exit and you totally avoid the stress of driving through the town-centre of Salzburg.
For parking of your car in Hellbrunn you will find plenty of spaces and always have to pay a small fee :

up to 30 minutes is free
31 to 120 minutes of parking is 2 euros
every additional hour is 0,60 euros
in any case, the maximum-fee is 3,20 euros per day

Salzburg-Card - Salzburg
Salzburg-Card To/Around Review

Salzburg-Card is a great combination of bus-ticket and free entry to all major attractions as the Mozart-houses, the castle Hohensalzburg, the Residenz and various other museums.
There are different ones, e.g. for 24 hours it is just 19,90 Euros.
Sound expensive in the first moment, BUT when you intend to visit
Hohenfeste - the cablecar & the castle with guided tour is included ( about 7,- Euro )
Residenz - ( about 8 Euros entry )
Mozart Geburtshaus
Mozart Wohnhaus
Lift to Mönchsberg is included, too...

Did you realize, even some of the buses are painted in " Mozartkugel-style" ??

take bus #25 from Hauptbahnhof - Hellbrunn
take bus #25 from Hauptbahnhof

Take the public bus #25 that starts at Salzburg Hauptbahnhof, it will take you within about 30-35 minutes to Hellbrunn. You will not leave the area of the city of Salzburg, so the busride is included also in the daytickets and in the Salzburg-Card.
On my pictures : Wasserspiele in Hellbrunn is a lot of fun, when water will rush out at places, where you would not expect it.

Take the train to Salzburg Trains Review

When arriving in Salzburg by train - have a look on the right side ( when coming from Germany )
The train will pass slowly the bridge over the river Salzach and you will have a great first view of the City and the castle "Hohensalzburg" from the train.

The trainstation is just a few steps from Mirabellgarten & Schloß Mirabell ( 5 minutes to walk )

How to get to Grossglockner - Bundesland Salzburg
How to get to Grossglockner

Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse
the road to the highest mountains of Austria

Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse is a toll-road and at first sight it looks quite expensive, BUT with that fee you dont only get the toll for the road, but in fact also all of the parking-fees and entry-fees to all museums along the road to Heiligenblut.
Some of the hotels in that area will refund that toll, when you stay for a few days
The dayticket for cars is 28 euros / for motorbikes 18 euros the 15-day ticket for cars: 35 / 25 euros for motorbikes
the 30day ticket for cars: 45 / 35 euros for motorbikes
the round-ticket for cars: 32 / 24 euros for motorbikes
----------------------------------------
something special for motorbikers:

Motorradhimmel Großglockner / Biker's heaven is a new project in the aea in order to improove the facilities along Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse for motor-bikers.
So they will find lots of garages and changing rooms or shelter-rooms for bad weather conditions. At Kaiser Franz-Josefs-Hoehe they will even find special lockers (see my 2nd picture), big enough to store their leather-overalls, the helmet and luggage etc. while taking a walk in the mountains. these lockers are free of charge, you need a 1-euro-coin that you will get back at the end.
The bikers-day-ticket for the toll-road is 18 euros !
25 euros for the 15-day-ticket
35 euros for the 30-day-ticket

By Public transport to Grossglockner :
Take Postbus 610 from Zell am See

Exploring Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse without your own car makes sense and is a lot cheaper as well, as you totally save the fee for the toll-road. There is 1-2 buses daily and all of them will have a stop of 30 minutes at Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Hoehe, so you dont see that area only by bus, but will have the chance to walk around a bit, watch the marmots, get some food etc.
Bus 651 will take you within 2 hours and 15 minutes to F.J.Hoehe, in case that you like to take a wheel-chair or a bike with you you have to reserve for them at least 1 day in advance : Tel.+43 6542 5444-10

*Rollstuhl-/Fahrradmitnahme 1 Werktag vorher anm., Tel.+43 6542 5444-10 (Gültig vom Mai bis Oktober); Fahrradmitnahme begrenzt möglich

the Königssee from above - Bundesland Salzburg

Take a flight over the alps

Flights over the alps
can be done best from Zell am See

I took a flight in a small airplane over the austrian alps including the Grossglockner and even over the Koenigssee in Bavaria, that was a really great adventure. I also was lucky that I was able to join 2 young couples who had booked that flight in advance and had a seat free, and as they wanted to sit togeather I was even able to get the seat in front, next to the pilot.
I payed something like 100 euros for a long flight of about 90 minutes
Go to the airport and ask for a flight ! Or even better : click on the link below and make a reservation !

How to get to Krimmler Wasserfaelle /waterfalls - Bundesland Salzburg
How to get to Krimmler Wasserfaelle /waterfalls

By public transport to Krimml waterfalls:
Take the Bus #670 from Zell am See, it starts in front of the train-station and it also is a ÖBB-bus, so it will be included in your train-passes.
The ride from Zell am See to the village of Krimml takes 75 minutes and the station of the bus is rather close to the entrance of the Krimmler Wasserfaelle.
In case that you are coming from Kitzbühel, Innsbruck etc. you will have to change the bus in Mittersill.
There is a train as well from Zell am See, but it really makes mainly sense for fans of narrow-gauge and steam-trains, they also go only the weekends !
how to get there by car:

Krimml is quite easy to drive to, when you are coming from Zell am See and Mittersill, the road is also quite scenic - dont miss the view of the Großvenediger, it will be on the left of the road and will last for a few hundred meters only and you will see the snowcovered mountains in the back between other mountains in front, it is like the famous "Jungfrau-blick" in Interlaken.
In Krimml you will find really large parking-spaces, the easy-ones you have to pay for parking, the last one is free of charge, that is close to the "Waterworld" the walk to the entrance of the falls from there is about 10 minutes and it is the one in my main picture.
They even have lockers for motorbikers-luggage (on my 2nd pic)
transport around the waterfalls:

During the high season - after june 21st and maybe untill end of september there are Taxis that will take you to the upper waterfalls through the woods on seperate alpine-roads that are not open to the public trafic. That might be a good way to see the waterfalls the easy way and it will also be the only way to get there for handicapped people.
I found these signposts at the carpark next to the Wassererlebniswelt, it seems that these taxis are waiting there during sunny days and you will find their tel.number there as well.
