Getting TO/AROUND: There is a brand-new lift taking the tourists up to the castle Werfen the easy way from the large parking along the main-road to Salzburg. It is operated automatically, you have to put in the ticket, the door will open, and when-ever a few people are in the cabin, the lift will start. Total capacity is around 10 or 12 people.
When you want to go down again, and there is no lift,
press the button and CALL FOR IT !!
Of course you may just as well walk up to the castle, the walk is about 10-15 minutes through the woods, partly asphalted but quite un-even still at many places.

Good news for handicapped tourists:
A wheelchair-lift will take you from the end of the funicular into the 1st court, where you may at least see the great architecture there, and may use the restaurant and restrooms. Also the castle-kitchen, Karl-Room and Chamber of the guards are easy accesible for you.
The guided tour , the casemattes and the falcons will be impossible for you.
In order to see the falcons you need really strong helpers to push your wheel-chair coming from the lower castle-entrance, BUT that path is quite steep !!
