Bade-Schiff - a pool inside a ship - Vienna
Bade-Schiff - a pool inside a ship

The so-called "Bade-Schiff" is a ship permanentely docked next to Schwedenplatz and it has a swimming-pool in that ship - just take a look at my pictures here.
It is a heated outdoor-pool and there is also a cafe and restaurant and some changing-rooms on the other ship, that also has a "beach" on its top, where you can take a sunbath !

Equipment: bring your VT-thong or Bikini, that should be enough !

Directions: This place is next to Schwedenplatz and just about 200 meters from the place, where the Twincity-liner starts its journey to Bratislava (It is shown also in my 2nd photo !)

Sports-travel Anno 1789...

Take a closer look at this wonderful "winter-sport-sled" - especially made for the family of Austria's emperor for hunting - did you see that this sled was made of various horns of deer ?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This sled can be seen in Schönbrunn - castle in the seperate museum for royal carriages togeather with lots of interesting royal carriages and the last car of the austrian emperors.
Jogging in the Kaiser's park in Schönbrunn
The Park of Schönbrunn is more than 2 Km² and offers long flat ways for jogging and you may even run the uphill-passages to the Gloriette and to the Maze.
Equipment: The park will be open to the public from 06.30 a.m. till 07.00 p.m. - dogs and bikers are not allowed inside that park at all - another good reason to go jogging there instead of other places in that area !!
Address: Wien - Schoenbrunn
Directions: In order to get to Schoenbrunn castle take U4 and take exit " Schönbrunn " or " Hietzing "
Eisstockschiessen in MQ - Vienna
Eisstockschiessen in MQ
Eisstock-Schiessen and skating in MQ
Inside the MQ (Museums Quartier) you will find a big variety of winter-activities such as skating or "Eisstock-schiessen" that you may see on my main picture. This is quite a popular sport in the alpine regions of Austria and Germany and you will have to try to get your "stick" as close as possible to another stick that is placed at the end of the track. Several players try to do so and each of them also has the possibility to push the "target-stick" and the other sticks away from its original position and so the game could be ended completly as a surprise. Mostly it is played by 2 teams fighting against each other
Equipment: You get all of the equipment there, you simply should have shoes that are not extremely slippery on the ice.
Directions: MQ / Museums Quartier is in a distance of 200 meters from Ringstrasse, opposite of Kunsthist. and Naturhist. museum, another entrance is at the beginning of Mariahilferstrasse.
