If you want to go to the ARAN ISLES - don't take the ferryboat from DOOLIN - the ship waits outside, and you will be carried by small tenderboats to the ferry.This takes about 1 hour to fill the ship.The mooring is very slippery and wet there and a saw quite a few people slipping into the water when entering the tenderboats.
You could fly from Spiddle (15km west of Galway) or take the ferry from Galway or Rossaveel (30km west)
