Favorite Thing: Whenever going through the Connemara, you will always see at least some of the " 12 Bens " in the background .
Fondest Memory: Drive slowly through the landscape in order not to miss lovely spots like this one

Favorite Thing: This is one of the 12 mountains that make the typical background when you drive through the Connemara .
Fondest Memory: Watch out for the muddy surrounding of these lakes

Favorite Thing: Connemara was called Connacht in the old Gaelic language, and at some small villages Gaelic is still spoken as the main language .
Fondest Memory: The people will understand English of course, but even the trafic-signs might be in Gaelic

Favorite Thing: This area looks so beautiful to US today...
Fondest Memory: ...But it was NOT ALWAYS like this, as the area is almost unfertile, lots of stones and just a bit of soil in between, NOT good enough to grow wheat,potatoes or vegetables

Favorite Thing: For us the area is a great landscape - but for people, who were forced to live there, and who had no chance to earn a living or grow their own vegetables, it was a hard living
Fondest Memory: many of the houses were left lateron and the inhabitants emmigrated to America
