Nacktarsch: drive-in wineshops along the Mosel-valley

Wine always makes a great souvenir, when you are driving through the Mosel- or Rhine-valley and at many places along the road you will see such counters, where you ring the bell and someone will come to serve you and sell their local wines. On my picture you may see a drive-in counter in Kroev, just about 4 km from Traben-Trarbach, on the road to Bernkastel_Kues.
Of course there are also other great wines in Kroev, but NACKTARSCH is certainly the most famous and mostly bought for it's funny name ! In contrary to many other bottles with funny names for a beer or wine, even the wine tastes also really great !!
What To Buy: Kroever Nacktarsch is certainly the best choice from all the wines from Kröv, mainly for the funny label and as a perfect laugh, when you take it home as a present for a friend !! Of course there are a lot more of different wines of the Rhine- and Mosel-valley !
What To Pay: In 2006 the price for 0.7 litres of "Kroever N@ckt@rsch" was between 3 and 6 Euros, depending on the year of the production.

Directions: The shop on my 1st picture was my favorite, and it was at the end of the village, coming from Cochem. Parking your car is easy there directely at the counter !

Excellent page on my former home. I too choked when I heard the name, "Flughafen Frankfurt/Hahn". As for wine, I much preferred the Trabener Gaispfad, Wolfer Sonnelay, Trarbacher Schlossberg, and Reiler Sorentberg to any wine from Kroev. ;o) | ATLC Fri Aug 3, 2007 18:55 UTC
