    Getting TO/AROUND: Cruising the Mosel is a Must, when you are on vacation in Traben-Trarbach and there are several ships leaving for Bernkastel-Kues every day,see the main schedule below or read more about it in my links below !
    In the high season from june till October there are also ships to Beilstein twice every week.

    ships are leaving in Traben-Trarbach daily
    at 10.00 + 11.15 + 11.45a.m. + 01.30 + 03.00 + 05.00p.m.
    they will arrive in Kröv, home of the famous "N@ckt@rsch"
    at 10.20 + 11.35a.m.+12.05 + 01.50 + 03.20 + 05.20p.m.
    they will be in Uerzig
    at 10.45 + 12.00a.m.+12.30 + 02.15 + 03.45 +05.45p.m.
    and finally they will arrive in bernkastel-Kues
    at 11.45a.m. + 01.10 + 01.30 +03.15 + 04.45 +06.45p.m

    There are ships leaving daily in Bernkastel
    at 10.00 + 11.15 + 11.45a.m. + 02.00 + 03.30 + 05.00p.m.
    arriving in Uerzig
    at 10.45a.m. + 12.15 + 12.45 + 03.00 + 04.10 + 05.45p.m.
    and arriving in Kröv
    at 11.15 + 12.30a.m. + 01.00 + 03.15 + 04.40 + 06.15p.m.
    and you will be back in Traben-Trarbach
    at 11.45a.m. + 12.50 + 01.35 + 03.40 + 05.00 + 06.35p.m.

    Getting TO/AROUND: Frankfurt/Hahn is an airport I always list under "Warnings and Danger" or "Tourist-traps" for most of the places in Germany. People have the feeling its close to Frankfurt am Main, BUT IT IS NOT !!
    BUT it is just 10 km from Traben-Trarbach, so it is the absolutely perfect airport, when you want to explore Traben-Trarbach and the Mosel- or even the Rhine-valley !!

    Once upon a time there was a small airport called Hahn - it was situated south of Traben-Trarbach and saw only just small planes....What a boring life, while "big brothers" like the one in Frankfurt am Main saw Jumbo-Jets galore...So one day a clever manager had the idea to ask Ryanair to fly to Hahn and call the airport Frankfurt/Hahn, although the real Frankfurt am Main is in a distance of about 150 km on small roads, and it will take 2-3 hours by car !!
    see a map of Germany with all airports in order to calculate the distance !!

    Transportation: take the train to Traben-Trarbach

    Category: Train
    Getting TO/AROUND: The train takes about 90 minutes from Koblenz and there will be 1 train each hour, leaving 45 minutes after the full hour. There are no direct trains, but you will always have to change the train in Bullay.
    From Trier the train takes mostly around 75 minutes, they also offer 1 train per hour, always at 21 minutes after the full hour and you also have to change the train in Bullay.
    All of these trains will be in the ordinary train-system of germany - DBB, and you will have unlimited rides with interrail- eurail- and similar pre-paid train-tickets !

     Excellent page on my former home. I too choked when I heard the name, "Flughafen Frankfurt/Hahn". As for wine, I much preferred the Trabener Gaispfad, Wolfer Sonnelay, Trarbacher Schlossberg, and Reiler Sorentberg to any wine from Kroev. ;o)
