Weesenstein is a lovely palace 20 km south of Dresden.
In Decemer 2004 I made an excursion there with Ingo (german eagle) as our tour-guide and Andrej (bugulma) ....
....we saw a strange "Local custom" there, and because Andrej would NEVER mention such a "local custom" on his pages, he asked me to do so here on my page...

Thanks so much for the background and detail. We are planning trip to Dresden and down in May 2011. Your great insight helps in decisions and what to see and eat. Brewery may be the pit stop
ein schönes Schloss ist das !
I got a chuckle from your 'Local Custom' tip! A very enjoyable page with interesting information on the King's flexibility regarding religion and the brew-pub sounds good too. Wow, Elbsandgebirge is spectacular!
I see I'll have to add this to my list. Thanks for sharing.
Schloss Weesenstein is beautiful as almost all schlosses in Germany. But there are so many of them that I failed to believe that I could visit even a half... Thanks Michael: you help with your pages!
wow, davon hab ich noch nie gehoert...was du alles kennst
what a beautiful place. the toilet seat was funny !
An other one of the many baroque treasures in Saxony. I see that I have to visit your pages more frequently.
another typical Globetrott-page ... specializing in chandeliers and loos :-)
What a pretty castle with all those different colours. And it looks very interesting on the inside too
